The Fast, Gold, and Strong brew modes deliberately change how long water sits in contact with the grounds, and Strong mode is supposed to take noticeably longer than Fast mode by design. If your Precision Brewer has gotten slower than it used to be on the same setting, check the shower head for mineral clogging and descale — the cause is the same scale buildup that affects the espresso lineup, just showing up as a longer total brew cycle instead of a slower shot.


When DIY Won't Work

  • Hot water flow through the group head (no portafilter) is also noticeably slow — this points to the pump or solenoid valve, not grind or cleanliness
