Why Is My K-Select Coffee Not Hot?

Keurig's K-Select (K80) guide has no temperature setting and no "coffee not hot" row. Its only link between maintenance and heat is in the descaling section: descaling every 3-6 months "helps maintain the heating element, and other internal parts that come in contact with water."

So the fixes the guide supports are: let it finish heating (about 3 minutes at first, about a minute between cups), descale, and keep High Altitude mode off unless you need it. High Altitude doesn't change temperature on the K-Select, but it does change how you brew.

Fix 2: Descale

1. Empty the reservoir, remove any filter, and power off.
2. Add the entire bottle of Keurig Descaling Solution, plus a bottle of water. Power on.
3. Run rinsing brews at the largest size, with no pod, until Add Water lights.
4. Let it stand 30 minutes or more, still on. Discard and rinse.
5. Fill with fresh water and run at least 12 rinsing brews at the largest size.

Fix 3: Check High Altitude Mode

What the guide says: High Altitude Brewing Mode is for 5,000 ft (1,500 m) and above. To enable it, power off, then hold Strong + 8 oz for 3 seconds; both lights blink 3 times. To disable it, power off and hold Strong + 8 oz until the lights go out.

The guide doesn't say High Altitude changes the brew temperature. If you live below 5,000 ft and turned it on by accident, turn it off.
